Phil
Since Lilli is buying a heap of fish on aquabid, i thought that i would help ease the courier charge on her and buy a few fish myself This is one of the males i got, he is a green OHM with some bf pattern. Phil
Well... i got this fish. Happy and not happy. He is a really beautiful shade of green, not bluish as in the picture, which is nice as he matches the breeder female perfectly. He has lost his Bf patternd, and CHEWed his tail! Still a great fish other than the bf loss and chewed tail, he is a good size and has a really strong, strait edged caudal. Atleast i wont feel bad breeding him since his fins are already damaged. Phil
Hey Guys, this little chewer took a little more out a while back but i finally have some re growth so am happy about that. Strange thing now, he isnt exactly green anymore, more of steel colour.
Richard
Nice looking fish, but i couldn't help but notice that the advertised picture of him had no red wash on the lower fin yet your picture showed he had soem red wash.. weird. cheers; Richard
Phil
Yes, he is differnet to the picture, the redwash and the white butterfly pattern are different, I think in some ways it is the same fish, but am not completely sure.
Chuckie
it could just be the marble gene. But he looks like a different fish to me. Not to worry, at least if he's not the same one, you got a nice one anyway!
Phil
Just thinking about it, i think it is the same fish judging by finnage folds on the tail (well what is identifyable lol) Being that he lost his BF pattern, it may be possible he has a marble gene, since, he was green when i got him and now he seems like a steelish colour. Does anyone know if fish can change colour gradually with marble in them?
Chuckie
well they can gain and lose colour, but I imagine if they are one shade of blue/turq, they can't change to another, as that part of the colour layer is full of whatever shade of blue the are. But what about blue and green? Can they have both in their phenotype, (although evident at different times due to the action of the marble gene)? What an interesting question. Robbies Betta
To me he looks like a copper-green, which could explain the redwash and diff metallicy irrids :)
