Chuckie Posted June 3, 2006 Report Share Posted June 3, 2006 Hi guys We're happy to announce that our first formal chat will be held at 9.30 EST on Wednesday. The topic is breeding bettas. We expect that the topic will probably focus on the fancy splendens but if you want to talk wilds, we'd be more than happy about that. The topic is deliberately quite general, as we hope to 'drill down' into more specialised, narrower topics in subsequent chats. This is a chance for the people new to bettas to ask the more experienced breeders for tips, and of course for the breeders to talk to each other about how they do things and why. We propose to make a transcript of the chat available afterwards as a resource and for the benefit of those who can't participate, so please bring along any questions or views you may have so we can make it a really interesting discussion. If you have a burning issue you want to see discussed and you can't make it to the chat, maybe you can ask someone to raise the issue on your behalf. We do ask that the chat try and stay on topic, since it is going to form a resource on AAQ. But please join in, be yourselves and most of all, enjoy! Figure_8 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Share Posted June 7, 2006 That feature is normally turned off on our chat system (as we don't log social conversations) but it will be turned on for the duration of tonights chat. So yes, there will be a chat log for tonight that will be made available afterwards for those that miss the chat Hope to see you there EDIT : ok scratch that.. I'd forgotten that it was a feature we opted not to include when we originally got the chat since we didn't want to log peoples conversations. Guess we didn't think of formal chats Sooo what we can do instead is I will log in at the beginning of the chat and leave the room open the whole time (even if I return to my sick bed ) and perform the old copy and paste trick afterwards. If a couple of other people wouldn't mind saving some or all of the converstations they participate in just incase something untoward happens to my internet connection and email them to me afterwards I'd be grateful.
