lodo
Think I've worked it out. Link from computer is stupid. Wrap your url with [ IMG ] url goes here [ / IMG ]
Lorraine1
test test test - nothing
lodo
It has to work. But take the spaces out. Adding spaces was only way it would appear. And enter it into where you type your next when sending normal msgs. The image doesn't appear until after you hit post
Lorraine1
[ no go it doesn't workI think I lost you. what is a url?[] []
lodo
Url is the web address at the top of the page. So the http thing. So if you do the img bracket thing with that inside it. The img brackets I posted above minus the spaces between them all are what you will need
Lorraine1
[] bahahaha nope.
maddzvk
url is the web address so in your bar at the top then you add with the square brackets before and after this address so for example for this thread (if it was a picture on photobucket which its not so dont expect a picture) it would be [ IMG ] http://www.ausaqua.net/index.php/topic/15496-photos/#entry173236 [ IMG] without spaces and that should work
Lorraine1
[ img ][ img ] the url doesn't come up. no matter whether I copy paste it or press copy in my photo bucket. either way nothing I give up I'm going to bed. I have to be up at 6.
lodo
Your img brackets are missing / in the second one. Without that the computer doesn't know where it finishes.
Wild Nut
Yeah without the / you won't get an image. However, this is how I upload photos to the forum. Saves me having to wrap every single url in tags.

Wild Nut
Did not even see that post. Would have saved me the bother of doing an annotated screenshot
Brenton
Lorraine's problem seems to be that the box to put the URL into is freezing everything else and so the whole process is falling over....need to think up a different approach.... Lorraine1
and nothing in between if I try with the image icon, after I put the url in the box the pop up freezes and I can't get it to go any further. I have to go out of Ausaqua and come back in.
afr3178
What I do, is when given the option I copy the IMG code on photobucket, not the direct one. Then I just paste it in my post and I have a photo, don't use the special insert IMG tool or anything else. Just copy IMG code and paste
Lorraine1
I wish that would work for me.

Brenton
Lorraine is on a Windows PC using IE for her browser...I asked the same question on FB just tried again using the / in the second The problem I am having is the url doesn't seem to paste in the middle of the two image bits.when I press paste nothing happens. all I get is and nothing in between if I try with the image icon, after I put the url in the box the pop up freezes and I can't get it to go any further. I have to go out of Ausaqua and come back in. Just wondering...if you highlight and copy the URL, and then, without putting in the tags, just paste it to your post, does it paste correctly...do you see something like: http://www.aao.gov.au/images/ If you do, once you paste it, can you then move the cursor back and put in the image tags so you end up with: SquareBracketImageTagSquareBrackethttp://www.aao.gov.au/images/SquareBracketForwardSlashImageTagSquareBracket
Brenton
Updated my browser to IE 11 tonight - and the forum stopped allowing me to post images - the image text box froze as reported by Lorraine...May want to report an incompatibility issue to the new hosts...Chrome seems to work as expected

Lorraine1
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thought I would be smart and log in with firefox. I couldn't log in as I forgot my username and password. I just keep it open on the favorites bar of explorer. I don't have a clue which explorer version I have as they update all the time. Brenton
From the menu bar, click on Help. Choose About Internet Explorer. That should open a box which will tell you what version you have
Lorraine1
ok I had a look. I am running internet explorer 11. I also tried using putting a photo up with firefox. finally remembered my sign in for this forum, so uploaded ausaqua with firefox, but couldn't get phototobucket photos to load because IT was running through explorer. tried to find photobucket with firefox. there was my biggest mistake, what I thought was photobucket. wasn't. was the biggest heap of spam and add on garbage I have ever seen. has taken me ages to uninstall it all back of my computer.
