Ghengis
Have you considered constipation? Is he poo-ing? Why not fast him for a day or two and see if that helps. Then maybe feed him a mashed half pea...
Betta_Lover19
Ok thanks for ur reply but what is fast him mean????
y2jdaze
fast = don't feed oh and if you're still concerned... a picture paints a thousand words and will go a long way to us helping any further :)
Canfeleq
He may just be a little piggy. How much and how often do you feed? And what are you feeding? Most of my bettas will eat everything you offer to them. If I don't watch their diet I would have a bunch of very colourful, swimming golf balls :)
Bettarazzi
How plump is plump? I have to say I've never actually had a male betta that I'd consider fat or plump. Older females or young females with a lot of eggs look plump but not the males.
Callatya
Which parts of him are fat? is it all over or just his tummy area? Does it look like he's swallowed a whole pea?

y2jdaze
Aaaw that's sad sorry for your loss. It could have been something like a tumour, I've had plenty of those in my years of Betta Keeping, and that kinda fits the symptoms although it would have to have been a rapidly growing one.
