would a styrophone box be good for keeping some bettas in?

Members of this forum have had late leaking from styrofoam boxes. It looks watertigh to start then next thing you know - soggy rotten carpet!

I have been growing plants and raining tadpoles in a foam box for over 3 years and I have never ever had it leak,... It's even outside exposed to the elements.

I know of 1 breeder who uses them as grow out tanks. Heater and all :applaud:

I know lots of people who have used them with success, but then I also know of others on here who have had them leak. I guess is it a risk you are willing to take?

Could be very much like fishtanks too. It's common of them cracking. Infact, that's one of the things that freak me out the most. Constantly worried my tanks will break or something.

Otherwise apart from possible leaking, I guess you COULD house a Betta in one, as long as it's a decent size, you could pop a heater in there too.

You wouldn't really be able to enjoy the beauty of your Betta in a foam box though. In my opinion, I wouldn't, just for that reason.

Temporarily, sure. But not permanently - I'd miss out on seeing it side on.

The problem for me is not being able to see in from the side. You really can't tell what's going on when looking from above.
