shadoh
Can anybody tell me what these worm/slug like critters are that are crawling all over the interior of my spawn tank. I've never had anything like this before... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4i7sK2dYfw&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Pyrefly
My guess would be planaria. Very common in shrimp/fry tanks due to the ease of overfeeding. http://www.planetinverts.com/what_is_that_bug_in_my_aquarium.html
shadoh
Thanks Sarah, that sounds about right. Now ive started waterchanges, they should start to disappear. The fry should make short work of them now they are growing...
kermadum
Yep, definitely looks like planaria. If you want it gone its a pretty easy kill with No Planaria (which I've used in fry tanks to kill Hydra before with no harm to fry). But planaria are pretty harmless and unless there's enough to bother you I wouldn't worry too much.
Pyrefly
Doubt they'll do much harm Jarrod, but I have some of that No-Planaria stuff here if you decide you want some.

paul
I don't think you need to worry about the planaria per se... But more that they are present because of excess amounts of decomposing organic matter/excess waste products that you might not detect on routine water parameter testing. If you weren't onto the water changes, I'd be a little concerned, but sounds like it's all under control.
shadoh
Yeah, yesterday was their first waterchange. The fry are now on their daily 50% waterchange regime so things should improve from here...
