Ned
i found this little wonder at the LFS, i though it was a female at first until the LFS guy said they didnt have any females today, i really really like his colour, its like a purple lavender with some white on his fins/body. there was 3 of them with similar colouring. i got him from strictly aquariums in beverly hills. i havent thought of a name for him yet. suggestions welcome!!! Phil
We saw one almost identical at Strictly's in Yagoona, except it was a female - they would make a good pair!! They also had some other great plakat males, some of them were quite large.

Ned
yeah i think i might head off to yagoona tommorow, thats not really the point though, its always sad to loose a fishy. i lost 4 of mine in two days once because of a disease, although i didnt know anything about bettas then, so i couldnt do much to help it. Ned
i knew it was a female!! bloody lfs guy!!! how could you tell? i was going to get another one today but i felt rude to replace one with another so recently.
splendidbetta
Don't believe what every LFS tells you about bettas . A good way to determine if a betta is female is if you can see a triangular creamy orange bulge extending out along the body from the belly. Also, check out the article section of the forum. HTH. splendidbetta
Males can have an 'egg spot'. But it's an IBC fault. http://www.ausaqua.net/articles.html http://www.ausaqua.net/files/sexingbettas001.html
