Chuckie
So, today I came home with * For new 2' tank: 4 sparkling gouramis, 1 japanese spatterdock ( ), 1 aponogeton (sp?), 3 x narrow val, 5 banana lillies * for a small species tank: 2 scarlet badis badis. Remains to be seen if they are a pair. See: http://www.labyrinthfisch.de/verwandte/badis.jpg * for a small species (if you can call them a species) tank: 2 male panda guppies (see http://www.pet-fish.net/pic-guppy/mosko.panda.jpg) and 2 female guppies * for Lake Tank tank (which still has no Lake Tank occupants, LOL!): 10 more zebra danios (so I now have 20) , 10 emerald eye rasboras () , 1 borneo sucker (see http://o-fish.com/Spesies/images/BorneoSucker01.jpg) * 2 magnificent blood red VTs and a red CT which I plan to cross with some red dragon DT females I bred. * a gorgeous black lace VT/delta (he may be a collapsed delta, his fins are very generous) who I plan to breed with my metallic green lace DT female from Kerry Marie or a metallic green HM/DT female I bred (KM's female x a copper from nick's teal line). Um ... I think that's all! Phil may pop in and explain why decent photos were not possible . I wish they were!!
Phil
Yep photos are difficult. You could barely see the fish in lilli's blackwater tanks! Chuckie
um... *checks* no, sorry, that's one I didn't write down! Have the kribs coloured up? Also on our wish lists for "one day, when I grow up and I am rich", LOL, wanamenses rainbows: http://www.israquarium.co.il/FishPhoto/Glo...0wanamensis.jpg http://www.amazonas-alfeld.de/bilder/zucht...0wanamensis.jpg
Phil
Damn.. u wrote everything else down!! Yep those rainbows were so good. Those photos do them no justice. I hope.. no i think i will be rich in a few weeks LOL. What were they, like $70 each or something!!
Bettarazzi
You got some Willow Hygro? Could you take a pic? I need to compare it with the plant that my LFS sold me as Willow Hygro.
Phil
I will try and get you a pic today, but they dont seem to want to come out well even with the bright lights. The willow hygro i bought was the emerse form and its leaves actually remind me of a weeping willow foliage. The submerse form looks like this in the link below. They had some in a display planted tank and it looked really good http://www.plantgeek.net/images/plantpics/hsalicifolia.jpg
Phil
Here is the Willow Hygro in the emerse form. Also my serpaes are to the left in the pic
Bettarazzi
Thanks very much for that. Looks like the leaves on mine are in the submersed form. It wasn't in the plants-for-sale tanks at the LFS but in one of the guppy tanks. It looked great in the LFS tank, it was the only thing in there except maybe for some java moss. I think she also gave it to me for free. But in my tank it just seems to dominate and I think it's affecting the water circulation because I find that areas beneath it are cold and dark. Phil
Is it growing well for you?
Bettarazzi
Almost too well :-) I did a big prune a couple of weeks ago which has improved things. The new leaves are a bright green which is nice and the underside is silver which I also like.

Ned
* a gorgeous black lace VT/delta (he may be a collapsed delta, his fins are very generous) were these guys at auburn aquarium? i saw something similar to that, looked like a vt with massive finnage though, black body and like navy blue coloured fins, i was so close to getting one, i dunno why i didnt acutally. your fish sound so interesting though... i really like those honey blue thingys.. there so cool. Chuckie
yep, the black lace male was from auburn. There is still a fantastic steel there with no red wash, but I left him on the shelf as i couldn't decide what to do with him. There's also a fantastic steel CT (with red ventrals though - are there any that don't have red ventrals??!).
Ned
i only had one CT ever, he was blue, i dont remember if... acutally... i just looked at his photo, yep, red ventrals lol... i saw a few nice ones, in the next few days if im able to drive and or walk ill take a look. Phil
They are nice Lisa, glad to see you finally got some tang's in ur tang tank! How are they getting on with the other fish? Little oscars are nice, you can always get one and trade it in with ur LFS when it gets too big. We get these really beautiful red ones at work! Back to topic tho, is there anything else that needs buying now?
Ned
some oscars for ned, thats all thats needed hey Phil do you work in a LFS? thats a great idea about the trade in. lol Phil you really are a bad influence, make her think she needs to buy something else!!! Chuckie
Think I may also get 4 more sparkling gouramis and put them into one of my betta spawning tanks (rather than being in a much larger community tank) in the hopes that they'll pair up and breed in there. Also, some wild bettas for the last tank. Michael, they grow up to 20cm. This is a 'play it by ear' thing because I only have them in a tall 2' tank. They'll probably have to go back to the lfs at some stage. Then again, the LFS where I got them had parents and tiny babies in a 2' tank, so who knows? BTW Ned: nice :(
