Roquen
Not sure if anyone else here has Kribs - but just wondering if I should be ok to put some guppies in my community tank with him + the platies already in there?
Mishy
Umm, as far as i know Kribs don't like corys (nip their fins). However, this could be due to the fact that both these fish feed from the bottom. Not sure how they'd take to guppies but my guess is should be ok since guppies like the top. Jess
He will be fine with the guppies unless he is very territorial, then you may have problems. I would give it a go, maybe just before lights out. I recently moved my male krib out of a 2 foot tank that held guppies and kuhlis and I only had problems when the kribs were spawning. Kribs are peaceful cichlids, but they like to their own territory, yet are very tolerant of other species of fish.
VickiPS
Breeding krib pairs will chase off and nip at anything that gets close to their territory, but otherwise they're pretty tolerant. My widowed Mrs Krib shares a 2ft tank with a bunch of assorted tetras and a couple of Madagascar rainbows quite happily.
