Fishyfishyfishy
Hi, I am wondering if anyone has tried or knows if crystal red and cherry red shrimp will cross breed if put together. Just trying to cut down on tank numbers. Also can you put shrimp in with guppies and they will not eat or harrass each other. Cheers.

Fishyfishyfishy
I have just skimmed through the info on your link and yes I understand what you mean. Genetics is an amazing thing.
zhong89
If u put them with guppies they will definately eat the shrimps. I put 4 guppy fry with my cherry and I didn't see babies after 2 days and didn't see anymore babies for about a months after they guppies removed! So I wouldn't risk it if you've got a small colony...
Matt_95
You can keep cherries with guppies if you have enough hiding spots for babies but no crystals. Cherries are a neocaridina so they can't cross with the crystals, a caridiana.
Fishyfishyfishy
Thanks all that is a big help. We are rearranging tanks and getting new species so this helps us with what to put with what.
RocRus01
I have a 2ft tank with about 15 cherry, 30 crystal and 5 ghost shrimp They all live fine with my guppies and my endlers...... the guppies keep popping babies out and its like every few times I actually sit there and watch my tank there's more and more babies from the guppies, endlers and shrimp.... But that's just me... there's heaps of plants and java moss and holes for the shrimp to hide... When I throw in some pleco algae bits the shrimps and my pleco eat together... sometimes it looks like the have a little battle where the shrimp try to drag the food But all in all that's just my set up i guess everyone's is different

Matt_95
People keep the fish away from crystals as they stress easily and you want to maximize the production, they breed slower and grow slower than cherries. On another note, your guppies and endless will be cross breeding. Yes that's right, I keep mine together.
