Shaun85 Posted May 18, 2011 Report Share Posted May 18, 2011 I have a normal gravel vac from aqua nova which i brought yesterday however upon using it today find it to be very unefficicient as most of the dirty and crap still in teh gravel just tends to float around the tank rather t hen be sucked up. So i searched google for an electric one (without thinking of electricution) and come across battery operated ones. Has anyone got a battery powered gravel vac or used one and can advise as to whether or not they are worthwhile? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

fishbites Posted May 18, 2011 Report Share Posted May 18, 2011 air operated vacs work well too - and much cheaper than buying batteries.... the air stone at the bottom gives the water a lift up a tube which then overflows into a "sock" which catches the debris.... easy to make with a bit of tubing, airline and an air stone and an old sock....
