Billphil
Some new (and beautiful) species of Aphyosemion imported from Aquarium Glaser have just been released by Bayfish Melbourne this afternoon (not many pairs available). The species are: - chocolate australe - deltaense - ecucuense - splendopleure tiko impasse They are all beautiful fish but not the cheapest. jo oakley
I really do like the chocolate australe is the gold form around?
Billphil
The gold form is very common in Melbourne aquariums
killimike
Just to make sure I catch everyone who might be interested, I am planning an order of these fish for interested people in Sydney. Due to the small numbers of these fish imported, we're having to do it in a hurry. But for those interested, please contact me tonight either PM, email or phone on 0425 312 347 for details. If all goes to plan, I'll place the order tmw morning and we'll have the fish by Friday!

Billphil
On Friday afternoon when the fish came out of quarantine, there were also females available
killimike
The females seem to have disappeared by Saturday or Sunday, except for one that was on hold yesterday.
Bettarazzi
That's disappointing. I suppose the males are pretty enough fish to have in a tank but disappointing for killie breeders.
killimike
I don't think Bayfish would be too impressed either, they may have trouble shifting those last few males! I am stoked that Bay has gotten German killies in several times this year tho Let's hope they keep it up in 2011!!
Bettarazzi
Well they're still pretty fish to have. They would be good for beginners wanting to learn about the husbandry. And they would look great in an aquascaped tank. Mike are you speaking with Bayfish directly? Or through a retailer.
killimike
I have called bayfish, but alas we have to go through a retailer to actually get the fish themselves :-( I agree, they are great as a display fish. Hopefully we can produce them in some numbers so more people can enjoy them like that :)
Bettarazzi
That's good that Bayfish will talk to you at least. So you can get it all organised, put the fish on hold(?), and then the shop just does the ordering. Presumably you spoke with the shop first. I'm just thinking out loud in case we want to do something like that in Melbourne. But I guess there are people in Melbourne who already have a good relationship with Bayfish.
