Lyarlla
Hi guys My mystery snails laid eggs and now I'm wondering do they need any special care? I've heard it said they need humidity, and if they dry out they died and the eggs flake away, but if the eggs are too wet they wont hatch either?? Can anyone give me any better advice? fishbites
Lyarlla, they always lay their eggs above water - possibly under the lid to a tank - just leave them there and they will be fine - as they hatch the little ones (about 1mm across) will drop into the water and start crawling round and growing! Robbies Betta
Yeah, just basically leave them be and they'll hatch on their own accord. I once had almost 200 babies and luckily for me only left with about 20 after my fish ate them up as well :P
Lyarlla
LOL, well mine are in a spawn tank with fry 1 week old so no chance of the fry eating them!
fishbites
You'll get a really good crop of snails then Lyarlla .... otherwise after you see them starting to hatch you can let a few drop in the tank and just remove the rest of the eggs. Lyarlla
Sounds like a good idea, as the ones in my sorority tank also decided to spawn too and I'm sure my betta will much them down when they hatch if I'm not careful!
