Chunky
Hi all, I'm an embarrassingly inexperienced fish keeper from Newcastle. My presence here is the result of more of TerribleTegs's proliferation, so she is at least partly responsible for the Newcastle infestation that seems to be happening right now. I currently have one tank with a few Cichlids, including a few electric blues I am hoping will breed once I stop mucking around with the decor. I've killed several plants, so at the moment I'm just growing rocks. See you guys around, Chunky

Chunky
Thanks all. Rock growing is kind of tough, I've actualy lost a few nanometers due to erosion! Apparently I need to wait for some seismic activity. It's hard tho, I'm so impatient!
Terribletegs
:) You know you can get plants off me any time Chunky. I can't guarantee your cichlids won't smash them however! :D
Chunky
Woo! Free stuff! I might actually take you up on that Tegs, I am setting up a new tank, it would be good to have the plants established before I add my mighty destroyers. How well do plants cope with Ammonia and Nitrite?
Chuckie
they eat it!
Chunky
Thanks Lilli, I thought so! I was told by the LFS that I should cycle my tank first because it might be a problem. I think that they are just terrified about being wrong and having people cranky at them.
pilchard
Have you tried Anubias sp. in the tanks with your plant destroyers, i run them with Mbuna and tang shellies without a problem. The leaves are bitter and the fish dont eat them, and in most casas strong enough for a 4inch bristlenose to hang from them without damaging the plant
