sunnylass Posted November 22, 2007 Report Share Posted November 22, 2007 The first lot of brine shrimp eggs I bought were from ebay, and the hatch rate was incredible. I had no problems at all. Yesterday I bought some brine shrimp eggs from a pet shop, and did exactly as the instructions said, and they are not hatching at all. There is also an off white thickish scum that builds up around the top edge of the container. I'm wondering if the batch is just off? I've tried one lot that I left for a full 24 hours, and no results. This next lot I've got going, the scum is building up again and I have a gut feeling I'm going to get the same nil hatch rate. It was a bit sad. Are you using the same method as you did with the Ebay ones? The ones that I got from ebay were in a freezer zip bag, and I had absolutely no problems at all. The success rate was huge. This lot I bought from the pet store were in a triangular shaped plastic container with a red lid. So far I've had none hatch.
