Stuart Elflett
Don't know which reservoir, or pipes are feeding it, but somewhere in Adelaide atm the tap water is carry ammonia off the scale, at over 8.0 - it's still 2.0 after it's been through a pura tap... that's a huge volume, especially in a small unfiltered betta tank, so check your tap water, Adelaideians... It is apparently a yearly thing that they flush the systems with some ammonia - these figures were tested by an LFS in the northern suburbs, but they don't know *where* the customer came from... Goodnight
Really? That's a worry. I'm in the Campbelltown area and my ammonia tests always come back as being very low levels. Maybe I'm lucky?
finley
That's a worry! In that business they should be acutely aware of the needs of water-based industries and hobbies such as aquaculture and fish-keeping, so should post community warnings in the weeks prior to such an action to inform us of the dates. Otherwise they could be up for some hefty legal action from businesses or individuals who incur costly losses because of such levels of toxin in the water. (Nevermind the human health implications - I don't even want to go there.) Does anyone have contacts at the water authorities?? I think someone needs to have a serious word, to make sure that they inform the community in advance. Finley
Callatya
If it is within acceptable levels for humans to drink, they are under no obligation to cater to anyone else :D
