brettc777
Is it ok to get a 300w heater and have it in a 12 litre tank? will it adjust itself to the smaller tank by detecting the temp? Also how do you disinfect a tank? Thanks
Rod
Can you fit a 300w heater in a 12 litre tank? Personally....I'd buy a smaller heater... Best way to disinfect a tank is with pool chlorine....that's what they use to kill bugs in drinking water....and any residual will evaporate or be netralised by typical water ager. brettc777
Dang, i was hoping it could use a 300W as an allrounder. Most of the time the 300W heater is the same price as the 100W heaters and i was hoping a 300w would work in a smaller tank so if i ever needed it for a bigger tank i would have one handy... saving me buying another. kitstyles
if you get a bigger tank, what you gonna use for the small tank? you still have to buy another heater right after you get a big tank unless you stop using the small tank ^^
Bettarazzi
I think I saw either a magazine article or a forum post that suggested that using heaters in tanks that were much smaller than recommended for that heater wasn't such a good idea. Bit hazy about the details.
