splendidbetta
Hey guys, was wondering whether I could use the coir-peat that you buy as a brick which expands to 9L in water, as a culture media for grindals? Cheers :)
Callatya
Apparently its salty? Phil talked me out of it for killies and I recall something about salt and coconuts? Probably a bad idea.
Handsfree
Reported to be very acidic too. Not recommended for use with fish, especially killies, because it can be abrasive. Keith

TraceBruno
I'm actually using the Bunnings brand coco-peat for my grindals and they seem to be thriving! I only have a small container though and I try and keep the medium as "loose" as possible. Hope that helps!
splendidbetta
Thanks Trace! I'll mix in some peat too and see how it goes :(
PeterJ
I got coir bricks from crazy clarks for my grindals. I'd read it stayed closer to nuetral pH than peat... Anyone got a soil pH test kit so we can find out for sure? I added shell grit to help buffer the pH too.
