They are about 8.5 weeks old now and some of the jarred ones are starting to get agro. What age do you card your fish? These 2 are almost constantly sparring, no matter who they are next to... Bettarazzi Posted November 18, 2010 Report Share Posted November 18, 2010 I card mine when they are jarred. Really, you only need to card them if you want them to flare on demand. If you don't card them eventually they'll get used to their neighbours and stop flaring. I jar and card females as well as males. Females tend to stop flaring even when they're carded but carding them can keep it going a bit longer. I was worried more about stress levels than anything else. Perhaps when I have a few more than 10 jarred...
