Marianne
Just wondering how you know when a female is big enough to breed, and also, after putting a very light coloured female in with the male, how do you know when she's ready? They don't get the vertical stripes to they?
evil2
My light coloured girls get dark/black vertical stripes when placed near a male. ... sorry, can't help you with the when question though
Bettarazzi
With the light coloured fish you might just have to go with your gut feeling. Allow them to see each other for 2 days then put them together.
Chuckie
are you able to put a dark female near the male and see what else she does when she gets the stripes, then watch for the same behaviour in the light female. Ignore the stripes, look at behaviour.
