Duv
Hi guys I'm new to both the forum and Betta keeping. I got my little man ANubis from the LPS the other day and have found out he is a veil tail. I am in love with the half moons but haven't been able to find any locally. I live in Tasmania and was wondering if anyone knows about the rules of bringing bettas in to the state? I have emailed a guy at the Fisheries department but am unsure how long it will take to get an answer so just thought I'd ask here too. Thanks for any info Duv

Callatya
One of our older members, Starwing, tried once or twice I believe. They were fairly decent sized orders from memory as there was not much benefit in smaller quantities. You might have more luck with the state AQIS rather than fisheries as a first port of call, but I am not familiar with Tas import regulations other than they are trickier than interstate to WA. Duv
Thanks for the replies I got an email back saying I would need a permit and to contact another guy lol Will let you know what happens
Duv
Well I think I may just have to leave importing them for now.... the permit costs $128. Since at this stage I only want them for my personal benefit I think thats a bit beyond my price range... lol
Callatya
Bugger, though I think that is cheaper than it was when Starwing did it. Was there need for quarantine time as well?
Chuckie
It's a shame there aren't more Tassie members to share the expense with you *lol*
Duv
Here's a link to the permit: Permit It doesn't mention anything about quarantine so I'm not sure Callatya If only Lilli, maybe I need to advertise later to see if anyone else wants me to become a transhipper =D
