Betta_Endeavours
Last weekend I picked up an extra female thinking that if one or two got sick, injured or died I'd be short of girls. At the time I wasn't fussed about her appearance because of the water flow and such. Now I'm not so sure that she is a she at all. I seperated the new one into a jar and stuck it near a male and was insite of the RB CT that's waiting to go into the spawning tank. It flared at the male and at the female but it seemed more like the way a male might. Is there any way I can check if this is really a plakat male or not? Bettarazzi
Have a look at this article http://www.ausaqua.net/files/sexingbettas001.html. But as the article says, the only sure way of identifying a female is if it produces eggs, or the ovary is visible (in light bodied types).
