Robbies Betta
My question is, is Jarra wood safe for fish tanks? We usually get a tonne or 2 for our wood firs, and I've noticed some really nice pieces to be used in tanks. I was wondering if it was safe to use for a tank and what preps would be needed? WOuld the tannin leaked still be safe for fish? or would I have to do the whole soak/boil thing? and if so, for how long? Cheers :)
Phil
Its hard to know, mabey test it on some guppies or something? I find that if you just chuck them up the yard in she sun after a while they age really well, then soak for a few weeks and give it a try :)
Robbies Betta
I've had it soaking for about 3 weeks now, so maybe I'll test the pH of the water in the bucket and see how it is. test guppies hey? another excuse to go and buy more fish
