sammc Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Any suggestions for the best fry food? I am just wanting to find out before i start breeding...
Leela Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Just in my experience, you can't go wrong with microworms. They're so tiny, and they wriggle, so fry are attracted to them. Lots of people use baby brine shrimp as well. The best food is high in protein and nutrition to help them grow. Live food is much better than frozen. I have been lucky with my fry, they'll take pretty much anything that'll fit in their mouths. I feed mine mw, frozen rotifers, frozen bbs, and the oh so wonderful Tim Addis Grade 2 powdered fry food, which makes life a lot easier, let me tell you!!!! Cheers L
VickiPS Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 I've given up on microworms and vinegar eels as not worth the trouble. I've had very good results with OSI powdered microfood and/or hardboiled egg yolk for the first week, followed by baby brine shrimp and Tim Addis dry food.
Chuckie Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Betta fry, you mean? There are some interesting responses in this poll: http://ausaqua.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=510
thomasellaby Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 i generally use microworms and BBS and i also use Sera Micron and Sera Mikropan. I know that this is what bakerman (Mick) uses too. Thomas Ellaby
