fuzzy_dragonfly
Paul noticed something very strange in my community tank the other day. It's small about 5mm diameter and white and looks like a mini snails nest. We know it's not a nest because there are trails of eaten algae behind the little beasts. I'm assuming they are a sort of slug but I can't see any poking out eyeballs. I can't get a clear pic of them but I'll tell you now they look like the glass is covoured in small pimples. There are about 50 that I can see and probebly about 100 more I can't. They don't seem to bother the fish and the fish don't bother them but I'm wondering if they could be the cause to the 2 disease outbreaks I had in the last 4 months. Anyway, just wondering if someone know what they were?
splendidbetta
Planaria?
Callatya
does it look like an oversized amoeba? Clear with a blob in the centre? If so, it seems to be some sort of shell critter, somewhat like a limpet but with a larger foot area and a voracious appetite for diatomous algae
fuzzy_dragonfly
No not planaria, it's not wormlike. It's more like what Abbey is describing the clear blob creature. Oh well ... I've had stranger creatures in the tank .... Like that fish leech . I'm sure there are lots more weird things in there I still don't know about.
