Tank overload ?

SAF

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone.

I currently have a 30L aquaone cube tank.

It currently houses 1 betta, 2 oto catfish and about 2-4 cherry shrimps.

The tank has a java moss rock,java fern, anubias on driftwood with more java moss and subwassertang and small handful of water sprite floating around the top.

I was thinking of adding some more shrimps into the tank. Would that be an overload for the tank ?

Only thing I would do in a tank of that size, is ensure my otocinclus were getting enough food. Not sure if you are supplementing their diet, but it is something to be mindful of as it is not unknown for otos to starve to death.

I do prefer to see them in groups of at least four, but that would be pushing it in a 30L tank.

As everyone else mentioned, shrimp have a very low bioload. Watersprite is also a very good nutrient sponge so it should help your filter in absorbing any extra ammonia being produced.

excellent.. I'm hoping to pick up approx 10 crs and 10 cherry shrimps.

Atm there is alittle bit of algae in the tank but as soon as that goes i was planning on getting some algae wafer and using blanched vegies.

@2revheads - thanks mate.
