zhong89 Posted August 22, 2012 Report Share Posted August 22, 2012 If you read my other threads you will know I have a crystal shrimps and cherry shrimp but recently I have converted my water from tap water to use rainwater and I have excellent success with breeding the shrimps (especially crystals) but I'm a little concerned due to my tap water like everyone's tap water contains quite a bit of calcium, mangnesium a lot of important trace elements that shrimps need now that I've converted to rainwater, it doesn't have the same stuff as I had before. So my question is what do you do to add the stuff back in without change the water parameters too much. I know adding coral bones etc will add calcium into the water but it will my it too alkaline too quickly. So there's a longterm solution to this problem? CNgo2006 Posted August 22, 2012 Report Share Posted August 22, 2012 I put benabachi mineral balls in there, it has everything shrimp needs and for a good moult. It also comes in a powder.
