shadoh
I have an oddball fry amongst my spawn. Not only is it red and black (out of blue marble parents), but it also has noticeable vertical stripes. None of my other fry are displaying them. Do you think it is an early developing female, or just a phase it is going through? Meet Tigger
fishbites
It's very strong barring.... could be a female but wouldn't it be great if it turned out the first tiger betta!!!
shadoh
I'm keeping an eye on this one for sure... I guess it could be the marble gene playing havoc and this is a transitional stage between one pattern and the next! :)
fishbites
The bars look far too uniform for it to be the marble gene though.... looks like you've been out with a marker pen! but if it is the marble gene get photos while you can because it will certainly change with time.... I quite like the colour too... red with dark edges to the fins looks good....
splendidbetta
Juvenile and adult females and juvenile males develop vertical barring. What you're seeing is normal. The ventrals suggest to me that this fry is male, but I could be wrong.
