fishish
Am inching in this direction Many rants later it has been concluded that bettas are not going to be a good idea to cycle my 90litre tank (divided in three). I'm now trying to decide what i will use... rather not pay too much as its mainly bettas im keen on so i just want them for cycling at present, thats it. I like mollies but LFS said they like harder water than bettas so maybe not them either? Suggestions appreciated :)
zhong89
I use a platy, she seems happy enough through the cycling process... I think what's important is to seed the filter material with water from already established tanks. Speed up the process and from what I noticed the peaks are not nearly as high as when I didn't seed it.

Bettarazzi
If the tank is for bettas you can get away with just using a product like Seachem Stability. I start all my tanks like that. Add water, add Prime, add Stability, add fish. I wouldn't start a discus tank like that. But bettas, guppies, and really all the small community fish should be fine.
