Duv Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 My little female betta keeps getting horizontal lines on her sides. Sometimes there are none but other times they appear right before your eyes. Is it because she is stressed or is it normal?
Chuckie Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 it's usually a sign of stress. when do you see them, ie what is happening/what are you doing when she displays them?
Duv Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Posted April 3, 2009 Usually when I go to feed her. She is in a 30lt tank with about 10 neon tetra and a heap of plants for her to hide in. She always comes up to the glass when I go to the tank to say hi. edit to add she is about to go into a 2 foot tank that has been divided into 3 each section is 20cm wide. She won't have the terta in there but will have some plants so maybe she will get better?
Chuckie Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 what will be in the other sections? Some of them just have those lines most of the time, I don't understand those ones. Emo fish!
Duv Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Posted April 3, 2009 She wil be in the middle and there will be a boy on either side. I used that plastic mesh stuff that they can't see through real well. LOL at emo fish =D
Peta Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 i'm with Lill on that on - could just be an emo fish haha - I've had one of those and I did find that the only time she was ever happy was when she was either beating someone up or in a tank on her own .. I generally just figured if she was eating well, tail wasn't clamped up and swimming around then she was okay! I think she was just a stress pot (should of slipped her some valium ....)
Duv Posted April 4, 2009 Author Report Posted April 4, 2009 Thanks guys I might have to change her name to Clownie or something. My little boy calls Clown fish emo fish =D (Finding Nemo..... LOL)
