Betta Dividers

I had a brainwave which is always dangerous! We have some scraps of good clean aluminium . I was thinking I could use this is make dividers in my fish tank.. Using the poster holders (siliconed in) to hold the aluminium, which would stop water sharing, but enable me to remove the dividers to make the tanks bigger if i wanted. The other bonus is the mirror like finish on the metal would encourage flaring... What do you guys think?

you don't want your fish flaring 24/7, firstly. I would rule it out solely because of the mirror finish. It might encourage flaring for a day, maybe even a week .. then never again, as the fish will be totally desensitized to the 'other' fish and won't flare any more.

secondly, what happens to aluminium in water? (I don't know). I personally wouldn't want that much metal in my tank, but if it's totally inert then that's less of an issue.
