jusdeb
I want to set up a grow out tank for guppy fry with live plants for refuge. Im a bit of a control freak with my tanks and dont really like plants just floating around ( messy ) so what I was thinking of doing is getting some bunch plants like cabomba / hornwort and wrapping the bottom ends loosely in filter floss and then placing this into a 7 or 9 cm terracotta pot and topping up with gravel ( much the same as potted aquarium plants are sold) then placing the pot into the tank. Or would fine gravel/sand work better? Any suggestions appreciated.
Bren MacFish
I use a layer of regular cheap potting mix in jars with gravel on top. I don't think fine sand would work for this method tho, it tends to smother anything under it.
