Sarah
During this mornings feed, I found this in the PK fry tank. Was wriggling around. Little worried since all of last spawn, save two, were eaten by damselfly larvae. Anybody know what this is?
Matt_95
Isn't it a mosquito pupae?

KillieOrCory
I think it is the pupa of a chronomid midge aka 'bloodworm'
Sarah
Does have mozzie similarities, I haven't noticed any mozzie pupa before, but it does kinda look like it. Not a bloodworm. Thanks guys. Not sure why I tend to have larvae/pupa popping up in fry tanks, other tanks I haven't noticed them in... even the ones without fish, just sitting there, uncovered. How they got past a fully glad wrapped tank, managed to lay eggs and not have me notice (when I'm hawk eying over it), I'll never know.
