melbournebetta Posted September 20, 2011 Report Share Posted September 20, 2011 While girls DO blow bubble nests, there is something about that little fish that says MALE to me. Often under-developed males are sold as females, I've recently had a 9 month old male declare himself after hanging out with the ladies in the sororiry this whole time. Wild Nut Posted September 20, 2011 Report Share Posted September 20, 2011 Yeah I think it looks like you have a male on your hands. The ventrals are fairly long, and the shape of the anal fin looks to be rather angulated for a female. If she/he is blowing bubbles and showing a lot of beard at the mirror when flaring, it's probably a male. I have had three or four of my females turn out to be PK males.
