finley Posted December 30, 2008 Report Share Posted December 30, 2008 Hi I need a new aquarium stand. It needs to be quite attractive - a civilised-looking piece for the living room. But I have had a good look around around and solid wood stands are sooooo over-priced for what they are, I can't believe it! Even the Dalbarb bevelled raw pine stands without doors are a really silly price, considering that we then have to stain them ourselves! (The most basic raw pine stands that look like a bunch of planks stuck together are affordable but too ugly for this location.) Short of making one, which is a hassle... Any other ideas??? Has anyone come across alternative pieces of wooden furniture that are attractive, sturdy and affordable? I only need it to support a 60cm x 30cm tank - about 80 litres.
