splendidbetta
I found the thread on another forum where Victoria Parnell wites that Some Thai breeders introduce a hormone to the fry tanks to create more "males". Interestingly, although they look, act, and can spawn like males, the ones that nature intended to be female will still only sire female offspring. It is assumed that the reason for this is because the fish still carries an xx chromosome. http://p105.ezboard.com/fchampionbettas308...topicID=8.topic So they were not true parthenogenic fish. That's what happens when you can't remember everything to the finest detail But what does everyone think of this adding-hormones-to-fry-tanks business? briddo
personally don't like it is a way to try and stop competition and competition is healthy and keeps honesty. Shame we can't find out who they are so we son't buy off them.
splendidbetta
Oh, and where would one obtain these hormones?
splendidbetta
Briddo, I share your opinion. It is also wrong for the fish and the buyer.
