najrick
I know its not a fish photo , but I thought you may enjoy it anyway. Gladstone at the moment is what you would call typical tropical QLD at its best. Its been hot and humid, with tropical storms every night. I think the fish have never been happier. But even I was taken back when I saw this guys bubblenest in his jar. It is over a inch thick. Never seen anything quite like it. Najina

Phil
Thats the thickest nest i have seen, are there any additives in the water?
najrick
We age our water with almond leaves. We always use Ketapang extract in our breeding and fry tanks, but this guy just had his normal aged water. Najina

argylebetta
Jeez he has been hard at it. Do most of your other fish blow a nest larger than normal during the times of storms Najina and is it the barometer levels that get them happy ?. najrick
I find that my fish react more to the humidly rather then storms. If its hot and sticky for days at a time that's when I usually get my biggest bubblenets. Though when it comes to spawning a big storm usually gets things happening pretty quickly.
