Chuckie
Sounds like red pigmentation, which is common on white fish as they get older. Unfortunately it could also be a bacterial infection. Please tell us about her - how old she is (approx) the conditions she is kept in, frequency of water changes, how you treat the water before using it etc. Is she isolated from other fish and if not, do they have any symptoms? Chuckie
It doesn't look infected to me. See in the dorsal spot how the red spots are all symmetrical? They look like her ummm.. sensory pit things (the name escapes me). She's a pretty girl! I'd keep an eye on her and maybe use some Indian Almond Leaf if you have access to it, just in case, but it doesn't look bacterial to me. The edges are smooth and not inflamed at all. Great, informative photos BTW. Perhaps you could also provide the info I suggested above.
cu29te
she was inside a chimney inside a 10L tank with the male outside. i change the water every week and condition the water by using stress coat (removes chlorine and ammonia). however the male doesnt have my same symptoms. the water temp is 29 degrees, with an ial inside it. maybe its because of the dirty water inside the chimney? ive realised that the chimney water turns yellow really quick. at the moment shes in isolation But the thing is she isnt old

Chuckie
weird, it's starting to look like hole in the head (hexamita?) It is years since I've seen it. What do other people think? I think Flagyl is what we used to treat hexamita with... but I could be wrong.
Lyarlla
My white females have pin sized holes in their head but this looks more serious! Looks kinda like hole in the head disease.... What sort of diet are you feeding her? I remember reading a while ago that poor diet can result in this. The other thing that cause cause it is a tiny worm/parasite thing that bores a hole.. How old is she? My white dragon scaled females got smaller versions of this around 5 months of age, though apparently its a sensory thing what they have...
