pilchard
This is one for peter, 2 of the jars contents came from him. The other is from the upper Willians River. And a shot of all 3.
ninoid12
very cute! I would love to design actual fish tanks similar with fishies in them. Oh to have a sexy looking aquatic habitat.... :)

pilchard
was it hard to get your hand in to plant ? The jars are 120mm square, and my hand fits in easily, i originally baught 100 of these in anticipation of my betta spawns @ $2ea from one of those $2 shops. They have a fairly water tight lid and im gunna drill 2 X 3mm holes in the lids for air.
killimike
These are great! Mini-nanos! Some ppl on AL have started setups like this, emersed for a few weeks, then filled them up. Apparently plants grow more quickly, and you avoid algae issues. Tom Barr mentioned this at the ANGFA convention too. So I reckon filling a few of your jars would be awesome. What is the substrate? Nice buy on the jars too.
pilchard
4 chook poo pellets and some Redhead grey sand from my garden. Peter would be better off to answer that as he has alot of emersed grown stuff that looks brilient.
killimike
Ah cool. What is Peter's name when he's online? Sounds like he owes us some photos, as the annoying refrain goes...
pilchard
Peter16, hes a young bloke that probebly knows more than 90% of LFS workers out there. I had the chance to meet him last week and for a 17 yo kid he blew my mind. Hes gunna go far in the Aquatic plant feild as he grows up.

Peter16
they look good. nice and humid in there. you will need those holes drilled so some fresh air can flow in and out. btw the mussels have settled in, one of them stuck its tongue out today.
