Lyarlla Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Hey guys, I thought I'd share one of my more 'fun' tanks with you (mainly because Im procrastinating and should be studying but I am so bored and my fish are so much more interesting!!!) This was my tank during its cycling phase. I used an older betta named 'Neptune' I rescued from a petshop who was the saddest and sickest looking betta there lying on his side on the bottom with horrible infected fin rot and I didnt think he was going to live long unless I rescued him... Im such a softie! Then after cycling I added some baby betta Not sure when this was taken but here they are! You can see the gold dragon and one of the green dragons I got from Troy aka xxBettaxx in there. Gah.... "reached photo limit". Will post a few more piccy's once someone posts/bumps this thread :D
fighter boy Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 BUMP BUMP BUMP.... more piccies please... I like the set up. Basic and soo effective... Good work.
Lyarlla Posted August 8, 2009 Author Report Posted August 8, 2009 Heehee, thanks And a more recent photo of the tank now with neons, golden loach, and a bristlenose too (although mr bristlenose was in serious hiding when i pulled out the camera!) The golden loach A rather cute piccy of Hydra trying to curl herself round and stick against the side of a banana lily. Her behaviour actually isnt that cute in real life though, she is a bit of a beast! Suggestions, questions, advice is welcome Lyarlla
fighter boy Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 i love it.... I think it would look better with more long flowing plants like val at the back hiding the filter head and heater. But thats just me. I love the pot and the rocks though i would definatley make sure they are secure. If they fall you will know about it... 70L of water on the floor is not nice.. trust me.. Good job. Yet another fine tank..
Lyarlla Posted August 9, 2009 Author Report Posted August 9, 2009 Thanks, I know its only basic and its darker now with blackwater extract which really brings out the neons colours Will definately be getting some more plants soon and I'll keep thin val in mind! I have tried to make the rocks sit fairly well together - though I was more concerned about them moving and squashing a fish than 70L on the floor!!
fighter boy Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 when in doubt....... Aquarium safe silicon from sealey's glue them together and let sit for a few days....
