Chuckie
Hello guys! Last night I wet some of the peat I obtained at a SKG meeting a few months ago, containing eggs of s. constanciae. I seem to have had a very good hatch rate. I have fed the fry VE and bbs (I fed the bbs as I am an optimist). According to killi keepers they are small, but they're no smaller than free-swimming bettas. They're still on the peat they were laid in, but I'll move them with a baster into a few separate containers shortly as I don't like having all my fry in one basket These killifish fry are so portable! Terribletegs
They sound so cool, and I love things that breed like crazy in small spaces... I think I might have to get some killies soon! I wanted some years ago but could never find any... this forum is, therefore, totally awesome. But you knew that. :)
Chuckie
I hope to be in a position to mail peat + eggs I (hopefully) harvest from the species I have, in due course . Will post in Classifieds when they're available. You can also post a WTB at the Killi forum
Chuckie
Moved these fry off the peat tonight, which I am re-drying overnight. Think I'll wet a 2nd batch of the bag of peat these ones were in tonight. I feel like making babies! (Not in that way, you dirty-minded people!!!). Marianne
I wet some constanciae eggs yesterday afternoon, but still have no sign of fry. How long did yours need to hatch?
Chuckie
I can't really remember exactly for constanciae, but my successful wettings have never taken more than 8 hours to hatch.
