bubbzy81
I have a milky white imbellis (I've been told most likely a hybred) that has just recently started to produce blue scales. & I don't mean irridescent blue, I mean dark blue, almost marble scales. It's amazing. At first I got a little freaked out, I thought he had some sort of fungus, but then I realised it was actually colour. Everyday I check him he has a little more blue on him. Here's a dodgy before pic: & here's some now pics:
Bettarazzi
What's that nick on his back? Did he get injured? Where did you get him from?
bubbzy81
It's not actually a nick on his back, more like a divet or an indentation. He already had that when I bought him from Coburg. I actually noticed his changing colour when I jarred him for the MBG. :(
Chuckie
Like I mentioned before, that's not what I'd call a betta imbellis. I doubt he has any imbellis in him at all, as he doesn't have the colouration of what used to be called 'imbellis', being the early splendes/imbellis hybrids that produced coppers. I honestly think he's a white PK, one who's developing a grizzle pattern (or possibly is a marble). Most white & gold bettas get blemishes eventually IME - it is a rare one that stays clean of dark markings.

bubbzy81
I love his little "you don't want to mess with me" pout. He's such a character. Always up for a good old barney! lol
Callatya
That divet in his back looks a bit like a healed syphon accident. Does it go the whole way around?
jo oakley
I have had young Bettas put their head into the holes in flower pot, put in the tank for the BNs, I had to help them out, that left a makes like that. I now shove rocks in any thing that a Betta can put its head in :giggle:
