Billphil
My LFS was today telling me that the Federal Government is seriously looking at banning the importation of all live-bearers. Has anyone else heard this and does it mean that guppies will be a distant memory?
Rod
Can't see any government doing that in current economic climate livebearers are a big seller....Aquarium industry would have a spak attack and scream job losses!!!

Callatya
What would that leave us with? Killies and tetras?
fishbites
Maybe we'll all have to have our fish microchipped just incase they jump out of our tanks and hitch a ride to the river! As usual it's the majority who have to deal with crazy rules because of a few who try to beat the system and not follow quarantine procedures or who can't do what's right and not release fish in natural watercourses. I guess apart from GST they haven't yet worked out how to tax ornamental fish imports.... Oh well... wait for more government fees to be announced... (hmmm... that sounded cynical didn't it!) :)
