luv_my_fish
I think Sydney Spawners is a cool name!
splendidbetta
That dragon female has awesome shape Where are the males? Don't worry about names... just give them a code A lot easier to keep track of them, especially if you're sharing stock :P
Chuckie
The males are on page 1. I don't name my bettas. I think they mean a name for the 'breeding club' people seem keen to start.
splendidbetta
Oh right, I had seen the males. Silly me. Calla: "I have a rule about not naming fish for the first little while as it is almost guaranteed to make them drop dead, I am a wee bit nervous that'll extend to joint ventures tongue.gif" Hence my comment :P
Callatya
Yup, that'll be the way it goes, they'll get jar numbers and we can track by those. Speaking of which, I should really stick my jars in the rain for a bit to get all the garage dust off them :P
kingers
i'm a big fan of the colours on that marble dragon boy!
Chuckie
Thank you! There seem to be a few of his siblings up for auction on AQB at the moment, who are just as lovely, so it appears that he's not a fluke! It's always good to know you haven't got the sole decent outcome of a 200 fry spawn, it must so much increase the chances of perpetuating good genes :giggle:
Chuckie
Ok, so. I bought another one, lol. http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/clo...ashmp1231001195

Chuckie
yeah ... but I am going to try and stick to PKs for a while, and see if that makes much difference to my water issues. Once the rainwater tank is installed, it should open up many more options :)
JUNGLE
Gorgeous fish Lilli.I saw fish like this in Thailand and realised how far behind we are in Australia. I am guessing you buy these fish and arrange shipment thru someone. Is that right?
Sara_01
That marble boy is going to be sooo pretty in real life, the pic isn't half bad either.
Chuckie
JUNGLE, that's right. There is a post about how you get fish in from aquabid in the transhipping forum.
Chuckie
Here are a few photos I took recently. I don't make any claim as to quality - but the fish can be seen, and that's the best I can offer you! Oh, I have some film of the gold PK - damn he is photogenic. I'll put that on YouTube. Goldsmith: Dragonfly: Butterfly (what you can see of her, lol!)
Bettarazzi
Woohoo!! Succumbed to the pressure. Seeeeee..... they're perfectly acceptable photos. Goldsmith is rather gorgeous. Chuckie
Thanks everyone! Well the following pairs are in together now: Goldsmith x Dragonfly Smith x Butterfly. If anything happens I'll start logging it. Beetle has a little injury on her back that I suspected of being columaris (*cry*) but it's clearing up nicely with a combination of salt, myxazin and melafix. I don't want to take any chances with her til she is 100% better, just in case, as she pineconed a tiny bit at one stage (it's gone away now - phew). Also, Blacksmith is the smallest of the new bettas and there's no way he could wrap her. He had some trouble adjusting to my feeding regime, lol. He's fine with frozen and freeze dried foods now. I just need him to grow a bit more, so I am building him up with frequent small high protein feeds. Hopefully he'll have caught up within the week.
