kchadwick
Ok so I desperately needed a new filter for my octagonal tank. Because of the lid arrangement I can only use internal filters. So I bought an aquaone (102F maxi I think?) and I can hear it from the other end of the room!! I had a cheap no brand one in there which is silent but the sponge is too small and clogs up all the time. Does anyone have any experience with these - do they settle down as the 'gunk' builds up? Ghengis
What does it sound like? Could be an air pocket in the impellor, or maybe the impellor isn't seated properly, Also, I've found that if you use the venturi connected to an airline to draw air into the tank, there can be a "SSHHHH"-ing sound. kchadwick
It's a rattle, like the impellor is smaller than the socket. might still be a stubborn air bubble in the impellor. I'll have another play with it tonight Cheers
Notorious
my internal aquaone was loud, drove me crazy, got relegated for an external Eheim after 6 months
Callatya
Mine never rattled, but it did hum incredibly loudly. That didn't get much quieter at all. It is a shame, because it is quite an efficient little filter, I just can't handle the humming!
