Ghengis
Dianna Walstad is the guru of "natural planted tanks". Her methods involve no CO2, minimal to zero unnatural light, no ferts and basic substrate. Types of plants suitable for this sort of setup are Crypts, J. Fern, Amazon Sword and Anubia... Anything requirent of minimal maintenance or upkeep, basically. Look at the "El Natural" section at Aquatic Plant Central, for tips and hints from Dianna and her disciples. brettc777
Fast growing plants are also good, like Hornwort. They suck up all the nutrients before the algae can use them.
