Notorious
A LFS had some nice HM's, but a few had nasty chunks missing outta their fins. On average, for a young adult fish how long do they take to grow back? Also when it does grow back are they as good as new or can u see flaws/damage in them where the chunks were missing at some point?
Aleisha18
Buy some Betta fix its an antibacterial treatment and will help heal their fins, i've found there fins only take about three weeks to a month to heal and they look good as new no scarring or anything. splendidbetta
Unless the fins are infected, clean warm water will be just fine for regrowing fins. Bettafix is a weak concentration of melafix, which is much more effective but should not be used for serious infections.
Chuckie
sometimes they'll grow back 'wrong' - but if you're planning to breed them, that's not an issue (odds are they'll end up damaged in a spawn tank anyway).
najrick
I have found that with HM's the fins never grow back "as good as new". They will always show a lit bit of odd branching or discolouration. Also it's very hard to keep a HM as a true HM much pass a couple of months. Their fins get damaged very easily. Bettarazzi
Agree with Lilli and Najrick. Past a certain age, damaged fins on a halfmoon won't grow back at all. Even on young fish the damage has to be pretty mild for it to grow back properly.
