What is the purpose of this forum?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone ;)

This is a forum where your fish will be discussed WARTS AND ALL and constructive feedback on the fish will be given.

Please do not post photos your fish here if you are not prepared for frank feedback about its faults/attributes!

If you are familiar with the IBC classes please specify which class you would enter the fish in if this were a betta show. If you are not, that's no problem - hopefully someone will make a suggestion as to which class your betta would fall into, and we can all learn as we go!

Please try to mention the source of your betta, particularly the breeder (if known).

Subject to members' reaction to this forum, we may refine it down the track. Ultimately we are hoping that the fish will be able to be assessed against IBC show standards.

Just a reminder that if you'd like to include photos of your fish here you will need to do so by use of an on-line photo hosting provider that everyone can access, such as Photobucket.

We would welcome any feedback you have on this forum in the Feedback and Technical forum.

Ok, let's see your beauties!

*bump*

Please try and actually critique the characteristics of the fish posted here guys. That's what the critique forum is here for. We can all learn from one another's frank opinions.

Thanks!

Hi all

As you guys all know, getting a good photo of a betta for the purposes of critique is pretty tough. Have you considered posting video footage instead of a photo? You can upload short films to YouTube and photobucket (just to name a couple) and embed them here, or if you post a link, we can embed them for you. This way you can get some critique of not just the fish's form but also its deportment, which is one of the things bettas are judged on.

Happy filming!

Another bump as a reminder.

If you post a fish in the critique forum, be prepared for critique.

If you reply to a post in the critique forum, please limit your comments to constructive commentary on the fish's attributes. Compliments etc are for the showroom.

Thanks.
