Callatya
READ THIS THREAD ON PETFISH.NET This has popped up on a few forums, so just in case anyone ships in these, I thought I'd give a heads up. :(
Jess
How do they work? I am thinking that water can escape if they are turned upside down...
Phil
They work by permitting the diffusion of oxygen and carbon dioxide across a plasitc membrane while retaining water. Breathing bags must be used correctly and differently from ordinary bags, all air must be removed so that the entire surface of the bag is in contact with water, When being shipped they must not touch eachother as this would reduce the gas exchange area. I got that out of my Betta book, but feel that they are useless for bettas since there is no air for them to breathe, the fish must use disolved oxygen. KillieOrCory
Great product to ship Killifish in. Most users heat seal both ends so that you get a mini liquid pillow with a fish in it Do not know how suitable it would be for Bettas though.
