Robbies Betta
I was wondering if they sell any of these Moss/Algae ball things here? the ones I saw on the net were "Cladophora aegagropila", but any moss ball would be great ;)
Callatya
I've never seen them here, which is rather unfortunate.
Robbies Betta
it is, cause they're really cool looking, like little green sponges, that are alive (well as much as plants can be)
Bettabegood
Um, I'm probably completely off track here, but I'll stick my neck out nevertheless... Are you talking about Java moss balls, Robert? If so, I bought one from my lfs. Just a bunch of Java moss kept in shape by a fishing line tied to a weight. But I think it looks kinda cool in the tank! Sue
Callatya
I think its the Merimo Balls Sue, its a heavy algae that naturally grows in a ball. Picture of moss balls More info on moss balls I like the java moss balls too Should do a DIY tut :P
Bettabegood
Thanks for the pics and info, Abbey. I like the look of the moss balls, I can understand why Robert posted about them. How typical of me to get my balls mixed up!!! Sue

Phil
Yeah, they Java moss balls arent bad, i cant see why they cost $15 or more?
Bettabegood
I think I paid a tad more than $15 for my java moss ball! Fishing line must be very expensive here in Canberra, probably because we're so far from the sea.... Sue
Robbies Betta
LOL sue I don't think I'd pay $15 for a java moss ball, but bought sum java moss tied up with a strip of lead for $5 (awhile ago), and it's still going :D
